The Boys is an American superhero series developed by Eric Kripke for the streaming service Amazon Prime Video. The series itself is based on the cartoon of the same name created by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson. The Boys cartoon was originally released on Wildstorm, which unfortunately went bankrupt in 2010 (DC Comics reopened Wildstorm again in 2017). After which the rights and releases came over to Dynamite Entertainment.
The series follows a team of self-employed men who fight superheroes who abuse their abilities and power. Although the TV series is based on the comic, a number of changes have been made in relation to the source material. You can see the video below, which among other things. are of differences.
Amazon Prime Video's big bet on The Boys immediately yielded returns, for The Boys' since its premiere in July 2019, became a huge success. We are the only ones in Denmark that sell licensed The Boys merchandise .
The cast itself on the TV series is a good mix of great actors such as Karl Urban and Jac Quaid, but also lesser known as Karen Fukuhara, Anthony Starr, Jessie T. Usher, Laz Alonso and Nathan Mitchell.
Seven, which is an official superhero group, is run by the conglomerate Vought International. It's all run with an outwardly perfect facade, but really, it's mega superficial celebrities who only think of themselves. They are also ready to do anything, it is straight from murder, violence and many other equally horrible things.
The Boys premiered July 26, 2019 and immediately received great critical acclaim for the script, the story itself, the dark humor and the whole cast that play excellently. It quickly became one of Amazon Prime Video's biggest hits, and pretty soon it was renewed for a season 2, which already premiered in September 2020.
Season 3 will premiere in 2021 and in addition, Amazon Prime ordered a spin-off series this year. When this will premiere and what exactly it will be about is not yet known for sure.
