Obi-Wan Kenobi, later known as Ben Kenobi, is a Jedi Knight from the Galactic Republic era. He trained Jedi Anakin Skywalker until he turned to the dark side and put an end to the Jedi Order. Upon the rise of the Galactic Empire, he will go into exile on Tatooine to watch over Skywalker's son, Luke, before becoming his mentor shortly before the Battle of Yavin. Kenobi then initiates Luke into the Force, before joining him himself during his duel with his former apprentice, Darth Vader.
