Commissioned by her master, the mystic urSu, Jen sets out to find Aughra before the three suns of Thra gather. She reveals to him the origin of Skeksis, brought when the crystal was broken, and entrusts him to take the broken shard and restore the dark crystal to its former state.

Aughra has many crystals and only one is the true shard, but remembers the teachings of the mystics and Jen plays a single note on her firca flute; the true shard vibrates and glows.

Before he can get more answers, Jen is forced to flee as they are besieged by the fearsome Garthim…
